Martin Luther King was a Republican
No CommentsYes, it’s true, even though they don’t teach this in schools. Martin Luther King was a republican. As this article at WND goes into, democrats have a history of exploiting racism, through demogogary and misdirection. While I disagree with Lincoln on many issues, he was a Republican as well.
Now this doesn’t mean that every person who runs as a republican (or is elected as one) represents the traditions of the Republican party. One striking example (beside George Bush) is Wendell Willkie who was a lifelong democrat, except for 1940 when he ran for president as the republican nominee (this article goes into a better explanation).
It seems that while the PEOPLE might want one thing, they constantly get something different than what they think they are going to get. Of course it would help if people looked at the records, rather than just the wonderful meaningless speeches that most politicians give, but people have been falling for this slight of mouth for centuries, so you can’t really expect them to start thinking now.
