The only real candidates for Pres in Illinois
No CommentsToday was the last day to file the petitions to be on the ballot in the Illinois. According to the State of Illinois Election site, only McCain, Romney, Ghoulani, Huckabee and of course Dr. Ron Paul (whose grassroots petition gatherers, including me, gathered 200% of the signatures needed for him and his delegates to be on the ballot) have delegates in most (if not all) of the congressional districts. That means that these are the only ones that will be able to have delegates elected from Illinois to vote in the Republican convention. Huckabee apparently only was able to find one person in a district to be a delegate, which pretty sad since you can have two delegates and two alternates and they all are on the same petition sheet so 4 people only require one signature. In other districts Huckabee wasn’t able to manage to get anyone to be a delegate, so I don’t know how he thinks he will become president.
Which means that these are the only 5 candidates that are really in the running for the nomination in Illinois. And yet the other candidates are still listed in new sites when Ron Paul isn’t. For example Katie Couric (CBS) recently featured Republican Candidates but not Ron Paul (see article here).
There are still polls that don’t even list Ron Paul as a choice, and these are used to show that Ron Paul supposedly can’t win. But some polls are shut down when it appears that Ron Paul might even have a chance (for instance the San Francisco Republican Party canceled their straw poll when they saw too many people with Ron Paul signs video at LewRockwell).
If the race was down to just those that actually can be elected it would be Ron Paul, Thompson, Romney and McCain, but the mainstream media would never admit that, in fact people like George Stephanopolus who said in an interview with Ron Paul (see video here):
Stephanopoulos: What’s success for you in this campaign?
Paul: What’s success? Well, to win, is one, is the goal.
Stephanopoulos: That’s not going to happen.
Paul: Do you know for absolute? Are you willing to bet every cent in your pocket for that?
Stephanopoulos: Yes.
While normal people are betting on Ron Paul (see gambling odds show Ron Paul gaining) the mainstream media is willing to bet every penny they have that Ron Paul won’t win.
Let’s hope they do bet every penny against him, and that Ron Paul does win.
Because he really is the last, best hope for America.
