Groklaw has an article about a case where a woman has been criminally charged for violating the MySpace Terms of Service agreement. In the past violating a contract would have been a civil matter, but this is more of the trend towards corporatism, where corporations actually make the laws, have people sentenced to corporate prisons, and the rest of the people just are happy that it’s not them.
You can see some of the results from this trend to let corporations run wild, with the recent rash of letters that were sent out threatening people with legal action if they didn’t pay obscene amounts of money for allegedly downloading porn. This is the logical result of courts essentially turning a blind eye to the litigation machine that the RIAA has unleashed.
There is a problem with letting every web site write essentially criminal laws, at least in my opinion, and it’s frightening that the Department of Justice and the judges in the U.S. Courts don’t see the problem. But then again I have gotten used to the idea that there are many people who, as WND reports believe:
“The Constitution means what we today decide it means”
It’s too bad that many people don’t realize the danger of that belief until too late. That we need to stand behind the constitution as a whole, if we want the protection of the pieces.
But then again Americans aren’t considered too bright these days.

A couple of years ago I tried to use OpenVPN to create a vpn between computers. It didn’t work as well as SSH did for me, so I’ve been using SSH instead since then.
ssh (SSH client) is a program for logging into a remote machine and for
executing commands on a remote machine. It is intended to replace rlogin
and rsh, and provide secure encrypted communications between two untrust-
ed hosts over an insecure network. X11 connections and arbitrary TCP
ports can also be forwarded over the secure channel. What this description leaves out is that SSH allows you to create tunnels through from one computer to another. For example you can use BitVise Tunnlier as Windows Client to forward ports so that data is sent encrypted from one computer to another. Of course there are other clients available for Windows and other operating systems, it’s just the BitVise client is very easy to use.
The other piece of the puzzle is that you need to have an SSH host as well. For Linux and BSD based systems these are easy to find, but for Windows I only found one prebuilt binary that is easy to use and free (this isn’t to pick on BitVise which has a fine commercial product). I’ve been using MobaSSH for Windows and have had good results with it. I can set it up to run on whatever port I want it to listen on, and then tunnel, forward, remote desktop, and secure file transfer to the remote machine. I also use another commercial program for Windows called proxy cap, that allows me to capture programs, ip addresses, etc using rules and route them to different proxies.
Of course, you don’t have to use a secure connection over the Internet, but then again maybe just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean that people are trying to hack things.

Personally, I didn’t like McCain and in no way should this be taken as wishing McCain won (as Egar Steele put it McCain might have made Bush look good). Rather this is more of a comment about what people believe in the “normal” or mainstream media, and how it contains false information many times.
I’ve heard many people state how stupid Palin is, many of whom I believe to be regular Fox News watchers. Well it turns out that Fox News was pumping out false information (e.g. lies) about Palin, at least according to the New York Times. Apparently it’s perfectly okay to create false information about someone if they are running for office and you don’t like them, in fact it can make you lots of money, and that’s okay, because after all Sarah Palin is a Republican, and let’s face it, treating Republicans as sub humans is fun and politically correct. In fact, groups go into churchs and make fun of the worshippers at their services and that’s still okay today.
And even after the Washington Post came out and admitted to bias, Fox News claimed there wasn’t any. This is the same Fox News that used to talk about the liberal media.
In other words, the media assumes (in my opinion correctly) that Americans are stupid “sheeple” that can be led this way and that, and for the most part the people don’t really care.
Another glaring example is the total apathy that people have about the fact that Hank Paulson, the United States Secretary of the Treasury and former CEO of Goldman Sachs, has reversed himself from what he said he was going to do with the money that Congress gave him. And why not, instead of the 250 Billion dollars that Congresswoman Schakowsky (who was reelected in spite of giving the fig leaf cover to the Treasury) claimed that Paulson would be limited to, Bloomberg has reported that some number around 2 TRILLION has been given out in emergency loans (with dodgy collateral) IN ADDITION TO the bailout money that congress rubber stamped. Of course the bailout is creeping closer to the 5 Trillion that I had said Bloomberg News had stated a month ago.
There is no reason to believe that the media is telling you the truth about the things that really matter, after all they are controlled by if not outright owned by the same entities that benefit from this theft of funds.
After all it’s commonly reported in international papers that the “Lessons from the Great Depression of the 1930s have not been learnt“. It’s because the same type of entities that created the conditions for the Great Depression get into power and then run away with all the money. This has happened throughout history and yet the people never learn. As Thomas Jefferson said:
The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered.
Devvy Kidd thinks that this is an “Unprecedented Rape of the American People“, I disagree, this type of road to serfdom has existed in the past, and is a tried and true method to create an underclass throughout history. Create a dependency on a central system, and then call the loans. This system was spelled out in the Bible and used by Joseph to ENSLAVE the people. How is that for precedent?
Or maybe many of these “Christian Patriots” just don’t read their bibles in total?

Apparently it’s okay to take over machines, if you take them over to study how much money is being made. According to TechRadar, a team of researchers from various California Universities controlled 75,869 machines to study how much money is generated by spam. They sent out over 350 Million emails and got 28 sales.
Now how is this different from when other people break the law?

Microsoft is offering a great deal to startups (companies that have been in business less than 3 years and have less than 1 million dollars in revenue). Apparently you get a whole bunch of tools and software and only have to pay a fee of $100 at the end (3 years) of the program. More details are at the Microsoft website (click here). A co-worker mentioned this to me, and I did a google search for the details.
Seems like a good deal to me, if I wanted to use Microsoft products for development.

I wasn’t sure what to write, as I thought I covered what I thought an Obama victory would mean before the election, but at least now the circus is over.
Or is it?
The one thing that this election did was allow for a huge transfer of wealth from the average person to the wealthy elite, or “Banksters” as they are sometimes called. This was something that both Obama and McCain supported with the bailout bill, something that according to Business Week, has gone off track. I don’t think it’s off track, but rather that the American people were just mislead about the purpose of this abomination.
The problem is that the current American financial system is set to implode, and has been on this course since 1968. Obama will not be able to deliever America from this fate, short of some kind of new world wide financial agreement (some have called for a new Bretton Woods arrangement). The last time this happened, in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, was in 1968 when the U.S. economy started on it’s path to collapse. So this new international agreement may have been the goal all along.
The reality is that at no time in history has the average “middle class” person been as leveraged as they are now. I am not talking about credit card debts, but rather the false hope of the “we own our home” crowd that rents money thinking they are buying a home. [An excellent discussion of this is at The Market Oracle].
The entire financial system of the United States is going to collapse, of that there is no real doubt, both China and Russia are publicly accusing the United States of “Plundering“ the world’s wealth, and there will be a reckoning. This “logic” may have been part of Biden’s prophecy that Obama would be tested, because the real challenge the Obama faces is not war in Iraq, terrorists who are stupid, but the ENGINEERED collapse of the American economy and the subsequent loss of American sovereignty.
I read an article about the Stock Market History, and I have come to the conclusion from it that the economic system (Banks and the Stock market) have been rigged to ensure that wealth is concentrated in as few hands as possible. The whole “Stock market” system is amazing, basically it allows for businesses to get money without having to get loans, once a business is in the stock martket it can issue stock and do other things that allow it to almost print money. Incredibly bizzare. And yet people put there money into this bizzare market and then get surprised when the market contracts.
I don’t know what the safe investment is, because I don’t know what the new world financial system will be like. While many people are talking about the probability of a “gold default” in the near future, where gold that has been sold at relatively low prices for delivery in December is demanded, but not actually able to be delivered, and China is going to tax virtual money in games, it seems that everything is on the table.
It’s just that no one is telling the average person about what is at stake (well not no one, but Ron Paul was marginalized). Many people think that Obama is going to be able to deliver us from evil or some such nonsense. The reality is that many people voted for Obama because he looked good and as such they expect that the world will look at the United States more favorably. The sad truth is that they are probably right, that appearance is everything to most people, and substance is forgotten.
So to will be the abundance we used to experience, but that is not really the fault of anything that Obama will do, as the wheels have been in motion for a long time, we are just the people left with the bill.

On the eve of this election, we are left with a choice, between an obvious Marxist in Obama, and a more subtle character in McCain. In either case, I expect that Kurt Vonnegut’s dream (as portrayed in the short story Harrison Bergeon, and the novel Galapagos) will become our nightmare, namely that we are going to be “averaged down“.
It has always amazed me when intelligent hard working people support schemes whereby individual workers are forced to support those who do little to contribute to society. But maybe it’s because those who don’t have to work to have a place to live are able to go to protests, political rallies and other events that the workers in society feel that the socialists represent them.
It has to be said that while Obama is the obviously worst candidate for president we may have ever had, it does mean that he will be worst president we could have. It is frightening however that the Obama campaign has proven the mind control on a vast scale works and is profitable.
It’s a sad state of affairs that just before the election Amazon allegedly had Barrack Obama Halloween mask under “terrorist” (according to the La Times), and yet no one really cares. Even while doubts persist about Obama’s birth, we are being told how wonderful life would be under Obama. As Alan Stang relies as story from a YouTube video:
A lady named Peggy Joseph took her kids out of school to attend a Hussein rally in Florida on October 30th. Later, she said, “It was the most memorable time of my life. It was a touching moment.” Why? “Because I never thought this day would ever happen. I won’t have to work on putting gas in my car, I won’t have to work on paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him, he’s going to help me.”
Yes, Obama is somehow going to give everything that the comman man wants to them, through some magical wand that he will wave. One of his great plans to solve the energy crisis is to bankrupt companies that want to use coal. How this helps American’s I don’t know, but the crowds love it, so we will probably be subjected to power limits in the future, as we won’t have any new nuclear or coal plants for energy, leaving me wondering how those electric cars are going to run.
Obama will have a new plan to raise children, (ala Harrison Bergeon), called “Zero to Five” (once again where the money comes from is unclear). Finally American parents will be free of having to worry about their children, because they can unload them onto the state, and then work to make the state greater.
Obama wants to create a vast army of people “voluntarily” serving the state, and these people will be encourged to give their children over to the government (from age zero) for the good of the state.’
And yet despite all these things, it’s not the fault of Obama, or McCain that we are on this road, but rather it’s the corruption of America from the top down. We have a system that rewards fraud and punishes honesty. And Obama is the proof of this.
America might just get what it deserves with Barrack Obama, God help us all.
